Another from the vaults (I think this is about two years old), but this Brent Atchley on Element introductory video is a personal fave of mine, and builds on the whole street-meets-tranny vibe (see Jamal Smith below). Atchley has style; he doesn’t kick-turn, he ollies; he slays Burnside; and he must have helium in his underpants for the amount of lift he gets on his pops.

But that tippy-toe stall to fakie on vert at 1:04, and then that one-footed corner-carve at 1:30? Wahnsinn. He’s just one of those guys that looks like he’s making stuff up as he goes along, which is about as cool as it gets.

Oh yeah, the song is dope too. Freestyle Fellowship, son.

Maybe it’s just me, but at times I get pretty burned out on all the street-tech stuff. It just feels repetitive, and it’s pretty hard to push the envelope as far as that arena’s concerned.

But tech tricks on transitions? I’m down with that. And if you’re looking for a “new” kid who’s pulling some impressive tricks on trannies, look no further than Jamal Smith. This footy was originally posted on Crailtap about five or six months ago, but it’s worth documenting. In short, I think Smith’s on to something. Now if we could just get him to fly out West and battle Dan Drehobl.

I had a post all ready to go on why Ryan Sheckler just might not suck, but I just saw this. Not that a mega-ramp jaunt means he does or doesn’t suck, but it just seems to take priority, you know? Enjoy.

- Video of the Oakley guys in Australia. Collin Provost, Tyler Hendley and Rune Glifberg were down there, evidently. Oakley is … well, Oakley, but that Rune guy doesn’t bother me so much. But maybe he does you. Who knows?
- Photos of Ronnie Creager dunking in a supermarket. I’d say you couldn’t make this stuff up, but you actually could. Wouldn’t be that hard.

- Read a Crailtap Top Five with everyone’s favorite asshole (and just to be clear, I mean that in the best way possible), Tim O’Connor.
- Video montage of the Bones Wheels guys. John Motta, John White, Josh Hawkins, Jordan Hoffart, Vince Del Valle, Adam Dyet, Rodney Jones and more. Looks like they’re having fun. Cool stuff. And that Motta’s a kook.
