Hi-Find: Top Tank
While out fetching lunch, I just saw some dude rockin’ a tank-top that said, simply enough: “I (Heart) SPORTS!” It looked homemade too. Hilarious. I’m feelin’ ya, crazy.

Dens posted this on his Flickr today. Brilliant.
As an aside, did you know Wikipedia lists Bert and Ernie as “roommates”? I always thought they were kid brothers chuck-chillin’ at home while the ‘rents were away. Now the whole setup just feels sorta seedy. And maybe a tad inappropriate.

DVS posted a top-notch video recap of the 2008 Copenhagen Pro. (On a side note, it seems that just about every video DVS posts online is straight-up high-quality stuff.) Watch it here:

I’m sure I’m way behind the curve on this, but I recently came across this Dubya voice simulator. Too funny. Repeated phrases seem to work best. For instance, “apple apple apple banana” cracked me up pretty good, as did “where is your face going to be be be”. It also says “barack obama” with a slightly mocking lilt, which seems appropriate enough. Minutes of fun.
I scanned in a bunch of old-school skateboarding ads from the 80’s, so I’ll post them regularly as time permits. The first one is a classic Christian Hosoi ad from 1986. It was one of those early ads that was all about image rather than the act of skateboarding itself. What I find pretty interesting is the dot-com-era abbreviation of “Skateboards” in the ad as “SKTBRDS”. In this age of eliminating extraneous vowels (Flickr, Tumblr, etc.) in the name of edginess, Hosoi and his pop were way ahead of the game.

According to NetsDaily, the Nets held a reception for about 40 season-ticket holders Tuesday night in Manhattan and assured them that “Brooklyn is happening.” The team expects to play in the Barclays Center to start the 2010-11 season. Color me excited. Read the full report here.
Despite its unfortunate title, Adio’s latest online video offering is definitely worth checking out. It features Danny Montoya, Kenny Anderson, Nick Dompierre, Ernie Torres, Joey Brezinski, Ryan Bobier, Ed Selego, Steve Nesser, Brian Brown and Nate Broussard, and the quality is top-notch. Strangely, quality is becoming increasingly important to me these days. Go figure.
Either way, check it out below, or download it for your iPod here.
(Oh, by the way, sorry for the dearth of posts lately, but I was away on vacation.)
