Ben Kingsley Pays Tribute to Minor Threat

Maybe it has something to do with the 25th anniversary of their breakup. Or maybe Sir BK (a true British Knight) is a big fan of eary-80s DCHC. Either way, this is one of the oddest videos I’ve seen in some time, and I don’t say “odd” with any positive or negative connotations. It just is that. Odd.

Coincidentally, I’ve been listening to Minor Threat nearly non-stop the last few weeks. And my conclusion is that after my, what, fourth rediscovery of these guys, I’m pretty much convinced that they are a legitimate American treasure.

Apparently the good people at Mean Magazine feel the same way. Thanks for that, guys.

Mobilosity

Just listened to Moby Octopad in it’s entirety. Still extremely agreeable.

I’m Back …

This is happening. Again. For reals.

I know I’ve relaunched and rebranded this site countless times since its inception in Sept. 2001, but this time I reckon it will stick. Why? Well, it’s springtime and I’m feeling light and breezy after a busy, if not hectic, back end of the calendar. I’m married now, we just moved to Brooklyn, and, most importantly, I purged my server. (Just kidding, Lisa.)

But the site’s spring cleaning was necessary, if only to get rid of the “138″ sub-directory; pages be published right off the .com url now. Plus, it’s good to be rid of all the stray MP3’s in the media folder (those music-bots have crazy long tentacles), and hopefully I won’t get too many more click-throughs from people googling “Friendster” (somehow, Krucoff’s to blame/credit for that one). If you’re here, you want to be here. That’s how things started out, and that’s how they should continue moving forward.

So, in closing, welcome back. And please pardon our appearance while we remodel; we’re still trying to figure out where this damn RSS feed should go. It clashes with the search box.
